It was a busy month of May 2014. I’ve got lots of papers in my table. I’ve got forecast to submit, and a new system to help set up. Then there’s Calaguas. It was planned months ago, but I never thought May would be this busy. I’ve got so many things going on in my head, and cancelling my trip was one of them. Well, I can, but I most certainly would not. First, I have my old friends waiting for me, and second, I don’t want to go back to the “No girl” I was before.
And so I went.
CALM SEAS AND BLUE SKIES
“The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul.”
— Wyland, Marine Life Artist
Yes, calm seas and blue skies were never too difficult to achieve. All it takes was an 8-hour bus ride, an hour of boat ride, and courage to move forward. Lovingly enough, I had all of them. And suddenly, all my worries vanished away. Sometimes, we are too busy looking down, seeing the ground, thinking about all our problems, when we can look up, see the clear sky, and know that in the end, everything will fall into their proper places. See different places. Look at a wider horizon. Enjoy the company of newly found friends. And capture every moments, not with a camera, but with your heart.
SEASHORES AND SUNSETS
“When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
Our first day in Calaguas is composed mostly of swimming, a little trekking, and beach bumming. We didn’t have many activities in our itinerary, but it was enough. You just have to look at the shore and be captivated by the view. Good thing we don’t have to worry about the tent or the food since we got a really affordable and nice tour package care of Byahe Adventours. We just have to care about how we can make the most out of our trip and enjoy every moment.
Have you ever looked at the sunset and wonder how it was able to give such a magnificent view? Or how it was able to stir your emotions, bury it at the deepest portion of your heart, and cover it with peace and solitude? Or how it makes you desperate to capture the view with a camera when no matter how expensive or beautiful your lenses are, it just couldn’t capture that majestic feeling of being under the orange skies? Well, I do. I always do. And it’s fun. And addictive. And sometimes, undescribable.
UNTOUCHED GROUNDS
“The serenity of the lulling ocean is a wondrous thing to behold..more precious than the gems coveted and covered in platinum or gold…”
― Oksana Rus
On our second day in Calaguas, we had Island hopping and swimming in our list. I was never a fan of Island hopping, but it was something I was really glad I did. For a while, I thought I was not in the Philippines, nor on Earth. I thought I was in Narnia. Well, that may sound silly, but I am dead serious. Remember how Prince Caspian sailed the seven seas and discover new Islands? That was exactly how I felt! For I have never seen any grounds as pure as what I saw there – no hint of commercialization, no tents, no stores, no electricity. Only some locals taking care of the Island. Isn’t it amazing??
All in all, it was a humbling tour, having seen the other side of the world with just a bus & boat ride. If you want to feel relaxed and serene, Calaguas is definitely the place for you.
Now how should I end this? How about with a jump shot, in the shore, on a sunset? 🙂 ‘Till next entry!
